Don Dusselier and Leonard Marks grew up on neighboring farms, were fraternity brothers at the same university, and in 1989 formed Dusselier and Marks Homes, which has become one of the most successful home building companies in Kansas.
Dusselier and Marks Homes, Inc. is currently constructing exceptional homes at Brookwood Farms in Spring Hill, KS, Stonebridge Park in Olathe, KS and Stonebridge Trails in Olathe KS. In the past, discerning clients have enjoyed their homes in Nottingham by the Green, Copper Creek, Wilshire Place, Cedar Creek, Links of Lionsgate, Whitehorse, Nottingham Estates at St. Andrews, and several other fine neighborhoods.
When asked why their homes are viewed as a cut above, they mention attention to detail and personal supervision. This comes from their involvement with every phase of the building process. “The housing industry and building products change each year, so by personally inspecting each task we see how individual products work for our clients. We pay attention to each detail and keep up on trends and innovations,” states Don Dusselier. He continues, “The most important ingredient for delivering a quality product is personal supervision. We are in the homes every day. We sincerely care that the home is being constructed correctly, and each of our subcontractors know that we care.”
Another emphasis is contact with the home buyer. “It gives our clients peace of mind to know that we are available to answer their questions and help them through the process. We emphasize an open line of communication,” says Leonard. “We do not depend on superintendants. We are on the jobsite every day.”
Leonard grew up in the home building business. His father was a builder in the Kansas City area for over thirty years. Leonard says, “I actually had a behind-the-desk job as an industrial engineer in Kentucky. My wife worked for a builder, and I realized I was paying more attention to her job than to mine, so I came back and joined my dad in the home building business.”
Don also came to the industry through a family business. “My father had concrete construction companies. I started out working for him each summer from the time I was 14, and then later, full time. Leonard was building with his dad, who was nearing retirement and slowing down. When his dad retired, Leonard and I became partners.”
Dusselier and Marks Homes, Inc has been the recipient of numerous HBA awards over the years. Their homes have earned the Pick of the Parade Award, Distinctive Plan and Design Award and the American Dream Award on several occasions.
In closing, they add, “Our personal involvement with our home owners sets us apart. We hope you take the time to talk to us and consider our homes. Your home is one of your largest assets, and it is vital to choose an experienced builder with a superior reputation to create lasting value for your family.”

We couldnt have asked for a more pleasant experience. We took advantage of their wonderful trade in program. Don and Leonard were both so accomodating. They actually finished the basement in our new home and completed everything on schedule. best replica watches We simply love our new home, the quality is phenominal and they continue to be very responsive to any needs we have.
“All work is complete and done to perfection. I must say very impressive the quality of work, professionalism in subcontractors and D&M Construction. Thank you all!!”
Don and Leonard experienc and reputation is well deserved and we witnessed first-hand their open lines of communication, organization, quality of work, detail and project management. They dont mind creating custom plans or even tweaking their existing plans, in fact they welcome it. Better yet, they do not gouge the pocketbook if modifications are made.
When Chris Graham, an account executive, relocated to the area 10 years ago he did not know any builders, so he looked for a builder that actually lived in the same subdivision.
That way, I would know where to go if there were problems. You never meet other builders or see them on the job site. But Don always returned my calls and often met met on the site, so that I knew what was going on. Don and Leonard were professional and flexible.
Mr. Graham had Dusselier and Marks build a second home in 1999. What impressed me was the quality of the workers. Many of the subs that worked on my second home had worked on my first home 10 years before. Now that is loyalty.
Cheryl Vickers, for whom Dusselier and Marks recently built a home in Nottingham by the Green, says, We were first-time home buyers and they were with us every step of the way. They are very conscientious — it only took one call and they were right there to solve any problems. We especially love our hearth room! We would definitely have them build our next home!
When Dr. Steve Segraves, a physician, and his wife, Teresa, built their home, it was distinctive from other homes they had built. Our other homes were also high quality, Teresa said, but I appreciated the personal touch with Don and Leonard. They called ahead to ask questions to discover what I wanted. They found out how we lived as a family, so that they could make suggestions to get things exactly right the first time and save us money in the end. For example, we are sports fanatics, so we designed extra cabinets and special wiring for surround sound that fit us perfectly.
